James Summerfield

co-founder
Linkedin

James has spent over 20 years designing and building award-winning brands, products and services. He began his career at Pentagram in London, where he utilized his industrial design skills to create aircraft interiors for United Airlines, mobile phones for Motorola, Royal Mail’s post box, London’s street furniture and the London Taxi.

Making a shift towards digital, James spent the following 11 years running a digital agency that was voted the worldwide number one creative new media agency by Advertising Age for two years running. His clients included Accenture, AOL, CBS, Citigroup, Virgin America and Viacom, as well as start-ups such as Unigo and Indaba Music. At the same time he established himself as a founder and advisory board member of several businesses, including Unigo (now the number one college search site in the US).

Recognizing the need to build brand experiences, products and services that deliver results and drive value, James founded Adoptive. There he spent seven years focussing on driving real value to clients’ businesses by providing strategy and support beyond traditional design and production. He guided large strategic rebranding projects, as well as built brands and businesses from the ground up. Clients included Komar, Clean, MediScripts and Bundoo.

James is now co-founder of Versive, an experience design company, where he uses his strategic expertise to design brands, products and services that align with his client’s business and customer needs.

Christina Summerfield

co-founder
Linkedin

For more than 15 years, Christina has found ways to help businesses save time and money by clearly understanding their needs. Christina’s background is as diverse as her skill set—she holds degrees in marketing and communications and is well versed in customer experience strategy, service design and implementation, corporate learning and development, operations, change management, business administration, event production and project management.

Early in her career, Christina was a founding partner of Frank, a knowledge management company, where she helped fashion retailers like Coach, Macy’s and Ann Taylor define and operationalize their customer experience. Christina drove business by aligning internal service strategies with external brands.

Christina then joined Adoptive as the company’s Customer Experience Director, where she was responsible for the development and implementation of service, education and operational strategies along with the tools and touchpoints to support their delivery. There she led numerous strategic projects such as redefining the patient experience for a leading Academic Medical Center, digitizing service training for Kate Spade along with multiple corporate learning programs for Adoptive’s larger clients.

Christina co-founded Versive to bring her customer experience design and operational expertise to building achievable and measurable brand experiences.
